Project Overview
We constructed a communication tower on a stealth site in Texas, requiring custom cosmetic services to conceal the function and nature of the building.
The Challenge
The tower was built in a high-end area, so it couldn’t look like a typical tower site. There was not much space available, and the ground sloped downhill, posing additional obstacles to construction. The tower itself required a climbing ladder and stairway inside of it.
The Performance Communications Process
To overcome the sloping ground, we built a wall, filled it in with dirt, and compacted it to the elevation of the existing parking lot. Then, we added to the wall’s height to hide the radio equipment and cabinets needed to make the tower functional.
We built a complex tower with the necessary interior infrastructure. Once the carrier equipment was installed, we added concealment panels to the entire tower. Finally, we landscaped and planted new grass sod to ensure the site looked better than it had when we arrived.
We were able to complete this tower construction project on time and within budget.
