Project Overview

We undertook a comprehensive upgrade of a professional sports team stadium to 5G, ensuring improved wireless coverage for their fans. We designed and installed a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) throughout the stadium itself as well as the surrounding hallways and common areas throughout the building.

The Challenge

This stadium was a multipurpose event space for e-sports, concerts, rodeos, and everything in between. They wanted strong cell coverage in outdoor plazas, public spaces, and the entertainment and dining areas throughout the complex.

The Performance Communications Process

We core drilled through every floor to run conduit for the coax cables and antennas. We also ran conduit from the equipment room to the catwalk, and throughout the catwalk for the antennas facing down at the stadium seats. We also installed antennas in all the hallways and common areas, for a total of almost 10,000 feet of coax and 60 antennas.

In the end, the DAS we installed successfully connected up to 80,000 users within the cavernous stadium complex. After our rigorous testing an deployment, we received positive feedback from both fans and employees.
